Through long-exposure photography at night, I explore the space between seeing and imagination.
Have you ever asked a question whose answer you didn't want to know? So that your imagination about what could be never has to end?"Grote mensen praten niet met poezen" is about searching without finding anything.
In this project, all photos were taken in complete darkness, in places where the human eye can barely see anything. By leaving my camera open for minutes at a time, it slowly gathers what little light is still there. This creates images that could never be seen in a single moment but are built up from an accumulation of time and light.
I take you along on my nocturnal search for what reveals itself when looking matters more than seeing. A surrender to not having to know, and to giving space to imagination.
